[Link] James Leroy - “Wasting Our Time”

Here’s a nice piece of summery fun on the first Friday of June, courtesy of Alberta’s James Leroy.

James Leroy | Wasting Our Time

A rather upbeat, punchy song for anyone who’s already had trouble keeping their New Year’s Resolution from someone who’s “Hey! …not young enough to know everything!” There’s a lot being relayed here in the midst of a deceivingly simple set of guitar riffs, including the confession to a previous romantic interest that “it’s not me, it’s Michael Jackson that you need!

This is the first I’ve heard from Leroy, and I’m having an incredibly difficult time finding information on him or the release of Distinction, apart from this blog post, and his myspace, but what I hear sounds great so far. There’s also a connection to Scotch Tapes, though the website seems oddly bare at the moment (apart from some haiku album reviews), but all evidence points to a future, unannounced release for Distinction.
